France Unveils Super-Fast Train

French President Nicolas Sarkozy has attended the launch of a new high-speed train made by engineering giant Alstom.

The AGV (Automotrice Grande Vitesse) train will travel at up to 360km/h (224mph), powered by motors placed under each carriage, the company says.

Alstom compares the AGV - successor to the TGV - to the world's largest passenger plane, the Airbus A380, in terms of importance and innovation.

"That we are here today is testimony to the courage of Alstom, because during its worst period it decided not to sacrifice its research and development," Mr Sarkozy said in front of the new train at Alstom's rail test centre in La Rochelle, western France.

In 2004, Mr Sarkozy, then finance minister, intervened to save Alstom by partially privatising the company and blocking a takeover by Germany's Siemens which wanted to dismantle the French giant.

"We need to entrench a simple message in people's minds: industry is not over, industry is essential for the economy of a rich nation as much as an emerging nation," Mr Sarkozy said at the launch.

World record

The new AGV trains are set to travel 1,000km (600 miles) in three hours, which is "a new stage in the competition with the airlines", said Alstom's Executive Chairman, Patrick Kron, at the ceremony.

With a motor under each carriage, the AGV - which translates as "high-speed railcar" - is unlike the TGV, which has motors only at the back and front.

It was also built using Alstom's own funds rather than as a joint venture with the state rail firm SNCF as the TGV was.

The TGV's maximum speed currently is 320km/h. But a modified TGV achieved a world rail speed record for a train on conventional rails last April, reaching 574.8km/h.

The AGV's new motors are more energy-efficient and the innovative multiple-unit design allows more passenger space, Alstom says.

It also reduces maintenance costs, the company says.

The Italian operator NTV has already bought 25 of the AGV trains, and will run them on the Italian high-speed network at a speed of 300km/h in 2011.(news.bbc.co.uk)

The Airbus A380 will fly from Singapore into Heathrow on March 18, which will also be the first A380 commercial service to Europe.

Singapore Airlines takes delivery of its third A380 in mid-March, enabling the airline to start service to London.

The first two have flown on the Singapore-Sydney route since their launch last October.

The first A380 flight to London, SQ 308, will leave Singapore’s Changi Airport on Tuesday, March 18 at 9am and arrive at Heathrow at 3.05pm the same day.

The aircraft will return to Singapore on the same day, operating as SQ 319, departing Heathrow at 6.55pm, arriving back into Singapore at 3.35hpm on Wednesday.

“The A380 will provide a capacity expansion on the popular Singapore-London route," sais SAI's executive vice president Huang Cheng Eng.

"For the first time, an aircraft larger than the B747-400 will fly this route, thereby meaning more seats without the need for more frequencies to what is already one of the world’s busiest airports.”

Semalem (eh subuh ding..) abis nongkrong di warnet, iseng2 mampir ke pedagang burjo (yah biarpun namanya burjo yang laris indomie gorengnya) mesen indomie goreng 2 biji tambah telor 1 biji plus aer putih 1 gelas porsi gede (maruknya kliatan deh). Baru aja duduk si abang dah bilang, "Dibungkus aja mas?" Yah kali tu warung dah mo tutup yak berhubung dah subuh, tapi gwa cuek aja sambil ngomong, "Makan sini aja bang, dah klaperan" Ya udah si abang akhirnya ngalah, dibikinin deh tu pesenan.

Dalam waktu dan tempo yang sesingkat2nya tu orderan akhirnya kelar juga, pas lagi enak2 makan, tiba2 dateng orang masuk ke warung itu sambil beli rokok, tadinya minta 1/2 bungkus, pas lagi diambilin ma si abang, eh tu anak ngomong, "Bang bayarnya besok yak" Set dah !! enak bgt tu orang, dateng tak dijemput, pulang tak diantar, ngutang tak dibayar !! dasar ! akhirnya si abang ngurungin niatnya ngasih 1/2 bungkus sambil ngeles katanya dah tinggal dikit rokoknya, tu orang tetep aja ngotot, dah 2 biji ga papa deh, ya udah deh akhirnya doi balik dengan 2 rokok gratisan (gwa sumpahin ga jadi daging tu rokok diperut tu orang !)

Abis tu orang pergi si abang cerita katanya kejadian kek gitu dah sering dialaminnya, dan dia ga bisa berbuat apa2, soalnya tu orang anak daerah situ juga (walopun katanya bukan RT situ), katanya malah ada yang lebih parah, mereka dateng pura2 pesen mie 3 mangkok, pake telor, pas dah abis bukannya bayar malah ngeloyor pergi tanpa acara permisi pula (yaiks..!)

Yah kalo dipikir2 kasian juga si abang, tapi apa boleh buat, dia tu perantauan disini, jadi mo ngelawan orang pribuminya situ juga percuma, mana ada kekuatan dianya, paling yang dilakuin cuman ngelus dada sambil istighfar, trus gmn dengan gwa, gwa disitu, koq ngga ngebelain si abang? yaelah bukannya ga berani, kalopun mo pake kekerasan gwa yakin 100% gwa masi bisa ngalahin tu orang (halah belagu ! xixixi) cuman dilihat donk buntutnya ntar, yang susah pasti si abangnya juga, anak2 kek gitu kalo kalah pasti bilang ke kroni2nya minta bantuan, sedangkan gwa dah ga disitu lagi, nah si abang lah yang bakal jadi korban ntar2nya, jadi mending gwa diem aja deh, sambil ngehibur tu abang.

Pelajaran ni buat orang2 setempat yang daerahnya masi banyak didapati orang2 perantau, jangan lah dilakukan hal2 yang macem itu, kasian mereka, rejeki pedagang indomie di kedai kecil ukuran 2x2meter berapa ribu si sehari? jadi biarin deh mereka cari rejeki toh yang untung kalian2 juga kan, kalo malem2 kelaperan masih ada orang yang mau buatin makanan buat loe (yah biarpun akhirnya mesti bayar juga hihihi).

nb: doh mampos deh gwa niatnya mo nulis PR dari Calon Pelukis (yang maunya dipanggil tukang gambar aja), malah catetannya ga dibawa, ini ni gara2 keburu2 dateng kewarnet, abis gmn donk, dirumah dinasehatin suruh buruan cari kerja molo (gini ni nasib FRESH GRADUATE yang masih nganggur, ada yang mo nawarin kerja *halah* hehe)

Something Wrong With Oggix ?!

Something wrong with Oggix.com, yup i realize this because i saw my blogroll who hosted on oggix is back to the old list (all my new friend link is gone) this also happen to the shoutbox, the message back to 18.11.07.

When i try to check on their main site Oggix.com everything seems normal, but when i try to post shoutbox, i see the weird result, it say "This site has been suspended." wow ! am i got banned from Oggix Network ? i dont think so.. coz iam curious i try to look the source, so i guess how this is work, when you post shoutbox, before it save/show your post, you must post the captcha number to prevent the spam, if iam not wrong this captcha script located in Oggix.biz, and BINGGO ! that is the problem, oggix.biz is suspended, that why i cant post shoutbox coz if you wanna post shoutbox you should past the oggix.biz 1st and the problem is oggix.biz is suspended, so i guess nothing wrong with my account hehehe

This problem is not only happen in my shoutbox, all user (including main shoutbox on oggix.com) has the same problem, well i hope oggix (the owner of oggix.com) will fix it soon. :)
